  1. 1

    The power of language

    Words carry worlds

Arabic is more than a means of communication: it holds a people's history, faith, poetry and memory.

  2. 2

    The weight of culture

    Art keeps memory

Songs, films and books remember what institutions forget.

  3. 3

    The need for dialogue

    Build bridges, not walls

Understanding across languages and borders is where diplomacy begins.

Portrait of Ghouda Bajji

Student of Arabic
& Reader of Worlds

I'm a third-year student of Arabic language, literature and civilisation in Toulouse, drawn to cinema, music and the politics of the Arab world.

Curious, organised and at home in several cultures: Arabic and Tamazight are my mother tongues, French and English my working languages, and I am learning Italian.

Before Toulouse I studied French law in Morocco, which taught me structure, rigour and how to build an argument. Today I read literature, films and songs closely — and ask what they say about the societies that made them.
